Spring has sprung! What have you noticed this month?
Our monthly nature noticing chat is this weekend.
Hello, I’m Rachel. I write about nature and creativity to encourage connection and wellbeing. This is one of my regular posts about noticing nature and a little nudge for you to get outside. To read more - go to my homepage or click the noticing nature and nudge from nature tabs.
Oh gosh, it’s the end of March and I haven’t written at all this month. I’m away at the moment and life has rather over taken me at the moment. I will get back to it soon.
But, my calendar has reminded me it is time for our monthly nature noticings.
On the last weekend of each month, I open up the community chat for you to share. It might be a wonderful moment, you might have a photo or might not, it might be something you experienced on the way home from the shops or a walk in the woods with friends. It might have been something you saw through the window. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, what is coming into bloom? In the southern hemisphere, how does nature prepare for the changing of the seasons?
Spring has been springing, both in England and France (where I currently am), so it’s hard to choose a highlight. For now, I’ll go for this amazing bee (I believe it’s a Violet Carpenter Bee) we accidentally disturbed whilst clearing up the garden. It needed to be disentangled from the weed matting it had been snoozing in, then I gave it a lift to a patch of primroses to revive itself. A few minutes later, it was on its way.
To join, you need to head to the chat. I know a lot of you read this via your email, but it only takes a click to take you either to the Substack website (where I host this blog) or you can use the app (click on the little message button, usually on the right hand side at the bottom). You can share a comment on this post if you’d prefer, but Substack only allows you to add photos in chat. Does that make sense? It is so lovely seeing nature from different locations around the UK and world.
It’s only for subscribers (free or paid) so if you found your way here another way, it would be lovely for you to join us.
At the moment, everything I share and write here on Substack is free. But it takes time and energy to produce. If you’d like to drop me a donation via Ko-Fi, click on the link below. Thank you!
See you in the chat,
Such a pretty little creature! I found a bumble bee having an afternoon nap on a sunny leaf the other day.
A beautiful bee. Its iridescent wings - wow
